Connections

Otto Skorzeny - Central Intelligence Agency
CIA file notes suggest that Skorzeny was siphoned off by the CIA as the Cold War began.
Otto Skorzeny - Connection - Mohammed Amin al-Husseini
As a representative of the Spanish arms company Alfa, Skorzeny operated in the Belgian Congo, the Middle East and North Africa in the mid-1950s and was in "constant communication" with the Arab Grand Mufti Mohammed Amin al-Husseini. During the Suez Crisis, Skorzeny supplied Egypt, Jordan and Algeria with decommissioned weapons from the Spanish army.
Otto Skorzeny - Organisation Gehlen
The Gehlen Organization (the US-funded forerunner of the Federal Intelligence Service) and the former SS-Obersturmbannführer Otto Skorzeny maintained indirect, pragmatic and at times operational cooperation during the Cold War. Declassified CIA documents and historical analysis show that while Skorzeny was not a permanent employee of the organization, he operated behind the scenes as an influential networker and intermediary.

Otto Skorzeny - Nuremberg Trials
After his trial in Dachau, Skorzeny was handed over to the German authorities for further investigation and transferred to the Darmstadt internment camp. On July 27, 1948, one day before Skorzeny was to be heard at a public hearing as part of the Nuremberg Trials, he was allowed to escape in a way that is still unclear, so that he could avoid possible further punishment.

Otto Skorzeny - Organisation der ehemaligen SS-Angehörigen
Skorzeny's escape and hiding repeatedly brought him into connection with Nazi refugee relief organizations. According to a US secret report from January 20, 1947, a German informant said that Skorzeny had already been the leader of the alleged underground network Organization of Former SS Members (O.d.e.SS.A.) during his internment in Dachau.
Otto Skorzeny - Savitri Devi
After a "pilgrimage" through Germany, Savitri Devi traveled further through Europe and to Egypt to meet National Socialists and made contact with relatives of former SS officers, such as the widow of Otto Ohlendorf and the pilot Hans-Ulrich Rudel, who introduced her to SS leaders such as Otto Skorzeny and Leon Degrelle and introduced her to the international neo-Nazi scene.
Otto Skorzeny - Head of the SS paratroopers - Unternehmen Eiche
Skorzeny was promoted to SS-Sturmbannführer for the liberation operation and was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross.

Although Skorzeny was neither involved in the direct planning of this operation nor had any command authority, he was highly praised for the liberation operation. The Nazi propaganda deliberately omitted the fact that the operation was primarily an operation planned and carried out by members of the parachute troops, while the role of Skorzeny and his SS men was greatly exaggerated.
