Marx Dormoy
In 1940, Dormoy was one of 80 members of parliament who voted against granting expanded powers to Marshal Pétain. Shortly thereafter, he was removed from office as mayor of Montluçon and imprisoned. On the night of July 26, 1941, Dormoy was assassinated in his hotel room by former Cagoule members Maurice Marbach, Yves Moynier, and Horace Vaillant (with the assistance of actress Annie Mourraille) using a time bomb.
