The state group "Ukroboronprom" and one of the world market leaders of the defense industry, the German company Rheinmetall, have signed a strategic partnership agreement. The aim is to strengthen the defense industry of Ukraine and its national security through the establishment of a joint venture.
"For us it is of crucial importance to fulfill the urgent needs of Ukraine in their struggle for freedom and democracy as quickly as possible. According to the agreement, the basis and the first step of cooperation is the technical maintenance and repair of the armored vehicles transferred to Ukraine. In the future, the partners will jointly produce Rheinmetall products in Ukraine and, based on the newly founded joint venture, with the involvement of Ukrainian and German experts, develop progressive patterns of weapons and military equipment.

The joint venture is scheduled to start operating in mid -July 2023.
