- Joint registration measure -
Bangladesch (Staat)
In 2018, the Bangladesh government tried to supplement previous registrations by starting a joint registration measure with the UNHCR. The aim of the government was to provide refugees with an identity card - a so -called \"smart card\" - with which they can use help and services. The government also tried to collect personal data collected by the UNHCR in order to transmit it to myanmar to assess the return authorization. UNHCR said this would help to protect the refugees\' right of return.
