Ron Sommer

On May 16, 1995, the summer chairman of Deutsche Telekom became the summer. Initially successful, on July 16, 2002 he resigned from his position on the grounds that the relationship of trust with the Supervisory Board was disturbed. The Federal Government as the majority owner had pushed Sommer to resign after massive price loss due to the stock market crisis from 2001 and the now high group debt.

After initial speculation, summer should receive a severance payment of 65 million euros, which was contested by Deutsche Telekom. The severance payment for summer was "only" 11.6 million euros.

It was announced in May 2008 that during the term of Sommer as CEO of Telekom, the systematic spying on employees and journalists began to uncover possible sources of information within the company.

During summer, the digital satellite radio (DSR) was banished from the remote remote network and finally fully adjusted.

Ron Sommer worked from May 2004 to December 31, 2006 on the supervisory board of the former German chemical company Celanese.

Since May 2003, Ron Sommer has been Chairman of the International Advisory Board (English Chairman of the International Advisory Council) of the Russian Sistema Group and was elected board member there in June 2005.
