Fritz Bauer
Bauer was found dead in the bathtub of his apartment in Frankfurt on July 1, 1968. The so -called "administrative section" made by the Frankfurt forensic doctor Joachim Gerchow were diagnosed with heart damage, severe acute bronchitis and taking a sleeping pills. There would be no indications of a third -party fault.
In his final report and later statements, Gerchow suspected suicide. Bauer's behavioral behavior, however, lacks before his death. At his request, Bauer was cremated against Jewish tradition.
The instructions of Bauer's representative to apply for a judicial corner of the body disregarded the responsible Frankfurt public prosecutor for this time, for the time being unknown and immediately - even for fire burial - released the body.
