On April 22, 1940, Daily Order No. 1481 was issued by the SS Main Office to all departments of the disposition force:
"On the orders of the Reichsführer SS, all SS units under the Waffen-SS are united in the Waffen-SS. (...) The terms "SS-Verfügungstruppe" and "SS-Totenkopfverbandes" are no longer used."
With this order, the armed forces were finally absorbed into the Waffen-SS.
