- Marketing manager -
Susan Wojcicki
Google's first office was in Wojcicki's garage in Menlo Park. The Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin, who was married to her sister Anne from 2007 to 2015, rented the garage from September 1998. In the same month, they registered Google as a company.
In 1999 Susan Wojcicki was hired as the 16th employee and first marketing manager of the company. She worked on the first marketing programs and took part in the development of the first Google Doodles (logo from Google).

Google
- first investor -
Andreas von Bechtolsheim
The idea for Google was originally part of academic research by Larry Page and Sergey Brin at Stanford University, which was patented by it.
One of the main reasons for Google's rapid success was the Algorithm Pagerank. Since Page quickly understood the enormous potential, he decided to let his dissertation (until today) rest. At first Page tried in vain to inspire the largest internet companies for this new technology at the time.
In August 1998, however, Andreas von Bechtolsheim provided a check for $ 100,000 after a ten-minute presentation of the search engine. Since Bechtolsheim assumed that Google would be the company, he used Google Inc. as recipient. Since such a company did not exist until then, Page and Brin registered the company under this name so that the check could be redeemed at all, whereupon Page became the first head of the now newly founded company (until 2001).

- Allegation: forwards patient data -
Medtronic
Medtronic faces a class action lawsuit that accuses the company and its subsidiary Minimed of having passed on sensitive patient data without consent. The lawsuit was submitted on behalf of a user of the Inpen Diabetes Management app, which learned in April 2023 that his personal and protected health information was forwarded to third -party providers such as Google. The data passed on include names, telephone numbers, email addresses, IP addresses, device identifiers and other sensitive medical information.
The lawsuit argues that Medtronic and Minimed deliberately decided to use tracking and authentication technologies such as Google Analytics, Crashlytics and Firebase Authentication to collect and share this data. These practices contradict the data protection guidelines and could violate the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), which should ensure the protection of such information.
Medtronic rejected the allegations.
