On April 1, 1941, Wilhelm Hallermann was appointed director of the Institute for Legal and Social Medicine at the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel, initially as an extraordinary professor.
In 1946 the professorship was converted into an ordinariate, so that Hallermann was now a decent public professor. [8] From 1946 to 1969 he held the management of the Studentenwerk at the University of Kiel in his hands, took over the management of the German Studentenwerk [10] in 1956 and was dean of the medical faculty from 1947 to 1949.
Hallermann was honored in 1969 and also gave the Kiel Institute to Oskar Grüner in 1971.

After a short time as an assistant and specialist in internal medicine at the Medical University Clinic Leipzig under Paul Morawitz, Hallermann worked from 1931 to 1940 at the Berlin Institute of Legal Medicine under Victor Müller-Hess. Hallermann also took off his official doctor exam in 1932 and in 1935 habilitated with a work on the subject of "Sudden heart death in wreath vessels", which appeared as a monograph in 1939.
