Altes Zuchthaus

The Brandenburg killing institution (described the actual function officially described as the "State Care Institute Brandenburg a. H.") was set up as the second institution in Grafeneck as "euthanasia" of action T4.

At the beginning of the 1920s, Göesch retired to Göttingen, where his sister Lili, married speech, lived and the brother-in-law lived as a psychiatrist and head of the Provincial Education Institute for Göttingen (later Göttingen justice facility). Goesch was a patient in the neighboring Provincial Healing and Nursing Institute. In 1935 he was moved to the Teupitz State Institute. On August 22, 1940, Goesch was gassed with a collective transport in the course of the Nazi Hilder Murders in the Brandenburg/Havel killing facility. For camouflage, his death was dated September 5, 1940 in Hartheim Castle and certified. His patient file was preserved and is located in the Federal Archives in Berlin.

The urn was buried on October 23, 1940 in the Zehlendorf cemetery in Berlin. The grave site is preserved.

Irmfried Eberl from 1940 to 1942 Medical Head of the Brandenburg and Bernburg killing facilities as part of the T4 Action and then in the summer of 1942 first head of the Treblinka extermination camp as part of the Reinhardt campaign.

From March 15 to November 1940, Aquilin Ullrich was employed as representative of the head of the Brandenburg killing institution, Irmfried Eberl.
Ullrich later said about his tasks in his process:

"In the killing process, if Dr. Eberl was present, I had to assist him with all the tasks for which the action of a doctor was prescribed. These were a visit to the undressed mentally ill in the anteroom in front of the gassing room and the subsequent killing."
